PUFFINS

The Puffin is an unmistakable bird with a black back and white underparts. It has a distinctive black head with large pale cheeks and a brightly-coloured bill. Their red eye markings and orange legs give it a comical appearance making it the clown among seabirds. The best places to see puffins in the UK are on the Farne Islands in Northumberland In Northumberland where they are known locally as Tommy Noddys and on Skomer Island off the Pembrokeshire coast. Details relating to the boat trips can be found on my links page.
